The Department of Hindi started functioning in 1981 to promote the aptitude in Hindi Language and Literature. After the bifurcation of Pre-Degree courses from the colleges in the year 2001, Hindi is being taught as a second Language for the Degree Programmes such as BA Economics, B.Sc Physics, B.Sc Chemistry and B.Com. The Department has been conducting literary competitions in Hindi and organizing Hindi film shows for the benefit of students.
