The history of the Department of English goes hand in hand with the history of the institution. Since its inception in September 1981, the department has striven to impart quality English education to the students hailing from a predominantly agrarian milieu. The year 2012 proved to be a landmark in the history of the department with the sanctioning of BA Communicative English Model III (Three Main) by the Government of Kerala. The course offers three core courses, English Literature, Communication, and Journalism. Ours is the only college in the M.G. University that offers this UG Programme in the government-aided sector.
