The Malayalam department has been functioning (as second language) in the College since its beginning in 1982. More than half of the students joining in the degree courses select Malayalam as second language. The government sanctioned the degree course B .A. Malayalam Model II Copywriting (Vocational) in 2012 .This course with journalism, as subsidiary subject is not present in any of the other aided /government colleges in Kerala. The course offers the papers with topics such as M.S Word, Page Maker, Photoshop, and DTP and includes theories of advertisement and its practical experience. It is one of the most promising job oriented course by the M.G. University.
