NAAC Reaccredited B Grade College
The establishment of the Government College Manimalakunnu in 1981 is the outcome of the relentless efforts of Rural Education Society (RES), a Charitable Society formed by the people in the Thirumaradi-Manimalakunnu area.Sri. M.J. Jacob Muttappillil, Ex. MLA and Late Sri. T.M. Jacob, former minister for Education were the founding leaders of the society.
The college was started as a Junior College comprising of Pre Degree Batches. At the outset, the college was affiliated to the University of Kerala and now it is affiliated to the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. The college currently offers 6 UG Programmes, 3 PG programmes and Ph.D. programme in Chemistry and caters to the Arts and Science educational aspirations of the poor students in the eastern part of Ernakulam district.
In 2008, the college was first NAAC accredited with B Grade. The college was renamed as T.M. Jacob Memorial Government College Manimalakunnu in 2012 after the demise of Sri. T.M. Jacob. In 2018, the college was NAAC Reaccredited with B Grade.
